Cops: Child Porn Was Posted To Pinterest
Suspect charged with uploading illicit images
AUGUST 31--A Pennsylvania man is locked up on numerous child porn charges after he allegedly uploaded illicit images to Pinterest, usually home to decorating ideas and fashion inspiration.
Police yesterday raided the home of Henri Lapine and arrested the 40-year-old on 36 felony charges. He is locked up in the Bradford County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail, according to court records.
Investigators allege that Lapine last year uploaded six child porn images to his Pinterest pinboard. The photos were flagged by the company, which then made a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Pinterest’s tips were subsequently forwarded to Pennsylvania cops, who tracked the vile uploads to Lapine’s residence in Rome, a borough just south of the New York state line.
The search of Lapine’s home, police reported, yielded “numerous images of child pornography on a laptop and thumb drive located at the residence.”
During a post-arrest interview, Lapine (seen above) reportedly confessed to viewing child porn “for approximately five years,” claiming that he looked at the images “several times a year mostly out of curiosity.”
Lapine’s Pinterest page has been deleted. (4 pages)
